The attempt on former U.S. President Donald Trump's life during a rally in Pennsylvania is politically motivated.

Increases Chances of Winning

Interfax repports that it could increase his chances of winning the upcoming November presidential election, according to Russian political strategist Yevgeny Minchenko. Speaking to Interfax, Minchenko highlighted the potential impact of this incident on the U.S. political landscape.

"This assassination attempt is undoubtedly politically motivated. It is hard to imagine that an attempt on a presidential candidate during a campaign rally could be apolitical. The shooter was killed, and it's unlikely the mastermind will be identified," Minchenko told Interfax.

Minchenko believes that the assassination attempt significantly enhances Trump's chances of victory.

"This incident strongly boosts Trump's image as a 'warrior fighting against the system.' Against the backdrop of an incapacitated Biden, the 'defiant and courageous' Trump appears much more convincing," he noted.

Liberal Media Bears Responsibility

The analyst also pointed out the extreme negative sentiment towards Trump in American liberal media.

"It's important to consider the 'atmosphere of hatred' towards Trump in several U.S. media outlets. Trump is heavily demonized and portrayed as a 'grave threat to American democracy.' Even if the shooter acted alone, the liberal media bears some responsibility," Minchenko argued.

During the incident, Trump was injured but later stated he felt fine. The Secret Service reported that the shooter, identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, was killed. While Crooks' motives remain unclear,

The Washington Post reported that he was a registered Republican in Pennsylvania, with a small donation to a Democratic PAC in 2021.
