A U.S. Secret Service agent assigned to protect Vice President Kamala Harris is under investigation after being accused of sexual assault by a member of Harris’s campaign team.

Removed From Duty

The alleged incident occurred during a campaign trip to Green Bay, Wisconsin, on September 20, 2024, according to reports from U.S. media outlets and Ziare.

The Secret Service agent, who has not been publicly named, was placed on administrative leave as an internal investigation unfolds. His weapon and badge were confiscated, and he has been removed from duty pending the outcome of the probe.

According to Real Clear Politics, the alleged incident took place in a hotel room after a long day of campaign preparations.

The agent, reportedly intoxicated at the time, is accused of inappropriately touching a female staff member while several witnesses were present. The incident reportedly occurred after a team dinner that involved alcohol.

Confirmed by Harris Office

The Secret Service has emphasized its strict standards for behavior, issuing a statement via ABC News:

"We hold our personnel to the highest conduct standards. The employee involved has been placed on administrative leave while the investigation is conducted. We do not tolerate any form of sexual misconduct."

A spokesperson for Vice President Harris's office confirmed that senior staff were notified of the incident and the ongoing investigation but declined to provide further details.

Kamala Harris was in Wisconsin on the date of the alleged assault as part of her 2024 campaign efforts. The investigation into the Secret Service agent continues, with both the agency and Harris's office maintaining that they will not release additional information until the inquiry is completed.
