“What the Hell Is Elon Doing There?” Trump Explodes Over Musk Briefing

In recent months, tensions between the U.S. and China have been a major concern for the White House.
With military strategies constantly under review, any leak or misstep can trigger serious consequences.
That’s exactly what happened when billionaire Elon Musk was unexpectedly linked to a top-secret meeting about U.S. defense plans regarding China, according to Axios.
President Donald Trump was furious when he found out that Musk had been invited to the classified briefing.

The meeting was focused on possible U.S. military action if a conflict with China were to break out.
Trump’s reaction was blunt. “What the hell is Elon doing there? Make sure he doesn’t attend,” he said, according to sources close to the situation.
Following this, the president ordered the meeting to be canceled and rescheduled. He also took action against two senior officials from the Pentagon.
Dan Caldwell and Darin Selnick were suspended after being accused of informing Musk about the briefing.
Both had ties to Musk and were seen as responsible for including him without proper clearance.
Although Trump has supported Musk in the past and praised his ideas and influence, this time things were different.
Musk’s business interests in China raised serious concerns.
Many in the administration believe those ties made his presence at a sensitive military meeting unacceptable.
“The president still likes Elon,” a source told Axios. “But there are red lines.”
The controversy became public on March 20, when The New York Times published a report claiming the Pentagon was planning to brief Musk on military options in case of a China-related conflict.
Both Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth called the report “fake news,” but their denial came only after the meeting had already been pushed back.
A day later, Musk did visit the Pentagon and met with Hegseth. Officials said China was not discussed in that meeting.
The full contents of the conversation remain undisclosed, but the incident has sparked new debate over the role of business leaders in national security matters.
