Former President Donald Trump has reached out to the families of the victims following a shooting incident at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania, where he was grazed by a bullet.

Expressed His Condolences

In a heartfelt post on Truth Social, Trump expressed his condolences and gratitude to law enforcement for their swift response.

"I want to thank the US Secret Service and all law enforcement for their quick response to the shooting in Butler, Pennsylvania. Most importantly, I want to express my condolences to the family of the person who was killed at the rally and also to the family of another individual who was seriously injured. It is incredible that such an act can happen in our country," Trump stated.

Pierced Right Ear

Trump recounted the moment he was struck, saying,

"I was hit by a bullet that pierced the top of my right ear. I immediately knew something was wrong when I heard a whistling sound, gunshots, and felt the bullet tearing through my skin. I bled a lot, so I quickly realized what was happening. God bless America," he wrote on Truth Social.

Assassin Identified

The FBI has identified the man who attempted to assassinate Trump as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania. Crooks was killed by the Secret Service during the incident.

"The FBI has identified Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, as the subject involved in the July 13 assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania. This remains an active and ongoing investigation, and anyone with information that could contribute to the investigation is encouraged to submit photos or video footage online at FBI.gov/butler or call 1-800-CALL-FBI," the FBI said in a statement.
