Charity Leader Claims Harassment as Prince Harry Steps Down

Prince Harry has long been involved in charity work, especially in Africa.

In 2006, he co-founded Sentebale, a charity supporting young people with HIV and AIDS in Lesotho and Botswana.

Now, the organization is at the center of a controversy. The charity’s chairwoman, Sophie Chandauka, has accused Harry of harassment and intimidation.

He recently resigned after a dispute that he described as devastating, reports Digi24.

Harry co-founded the organization with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho. Both he and Seeiso, along with the board of directors, decided to leave after their conflict with Chandauka.

In an interview with Sky News, Chandauka criticized Harry's actions. She said that on Tuesday, he authorized the release of damaging information without informing her or other key figures in the organization.

She claimed this caused distress to her and the 540 people connected to Sentebale.

Prince Harry has not responded to the allegations. His representatives, as well as those of Meghan Markle, did not provide a comment when asked by Sky News.

According to a source close to the charity’s trustees, they had expected what they called a publicity stunt. The group stood by their decision to resign.

Harry and Seeiso issued a statement on Wednesday. They expressed sadness over the breakdown in relations between Sentebale’s leadership and Chandauka.

Chandauka previously described the charity as suffering from poor governance, weak executive management, and abuse of power.

She also spoke about harassment, intimidation, and misogyny within the organization.

In an interview with the Financial Times, she revealed that Harry’s team once asked her to protect Meghan from negative media coverage. She refused to do so.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry is facing more accusations. Last week, documents related to his US visa application were made public.

The documents were released following a court ruling. The Heritage Foundation alleges that Harry concealed past drug use, which could have made him ineligible for a visa.

His memoir, Spare, details his use of cocaine, marijuana, and psychedelic mushrooms. US visa applications ask about past drug use, and admissions can lead to rejection.

Although some documents were released, much remains unknown. The actual visa application form was not made public.

In his book, published in January 2023, Harry admitted to using cocaine at 17. He said it did not make him happy but made him feel different.

He also wrote that marijuana helped him more than cocaine did.

The court’s decision to release the files follows an earlier ruling in 2024. At that time, a judge found there was not enough public interest to justify making Harry’s immigration records available.

The Heritage Foundation appealed. The case continues as Harry remains in the US with Meghan, whom he moved with in 2020 after stepping back from royal duties.

His visa status remains unclear, as Meghan is a US citizen.
