Princess Kate’s 43rd birthday this Thursday will be a special one. She will celebrate the occasion with her closest family in Windsor.

Kate will be joined by her husband, Prince William, and their three children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

This birthday marks a significant moment for Kate, as it is her first after undergoing cancer treatment.

The Princess of Wales has had a difficult year. In January 2024, she had abdominal surgery, which led to a nearly two-week stay in the hospital.

Afterward, she was diagnosed with cancer and began chemotherapy soon after.

Despite the challenges, Kate has shown strength and resilience. She kept a low profile for some time but shared several personal updates with the public.

In September, she announced that her chemotherapy had finished through a heartfelt video showing her walking with her family. She also shared that she would gradually return to her royal duties.

Kate made her first public appearance at King Charles’ birthday parade in June. Later, she took part in a World War II commemoration in November.

In December, she hosted her traditional Christmas concert at Westminster Abbey, honoring those who have made a difference in the lives of others.

It is expected that she will continue to appear in public more frequently in the future.

Despite the challenges Kate has faced, she has not revealed the exact type of cancer she was battling.

The Princess of Wales has kept that information private, as has her father-in-law, King Charles III.

King Charles, who is also undergoing cancer treatment, returned to his royal duties quickly, though his treatment is ongoing.

The royal family's openness about their illnesses marks a shift in how health issues are addressed publicly.

Before, the royal family’s health matters were kept strictly private. However, both Kate and King Charles have chosen to share their experiences, which has been a significant moment for the monarchy.
