Lionel Messi’s Number 10 jersey with Inter Miami continues to lead the sales charts in Major League Soccer (MLS), according to the latest report from the league.
Highest-Selling Item
Since Messi’s arrival in the United States in the summer of 2023, his jersey has consistently been the top-seller, maintaining its position at the forefront of MLS merchandise rankings, according to Ziare.
The MLS recently released sales data from January 1 to August 31, 2024, through its official store, MLSstore.com. Despite taking a two-month break due to an injury, Messi’s jersey remains the highest-selling item.
This shows the significant impact that Messi has had on the league, not only with his performance on the pitch but also in boosting merchandise sales.
Suárez Takes Second Place
Following Messi on the sales charts is Uruguayan forward Luis Suárez, who is also a key player for Inter Miami. Suárez’s popularity reflects his strong performances and close association with Messi. The third spot is occupied by Denis Bouanga of Los Angeles FC, who was the MLS’s top scorer last season.
In fourth place is Luciano Acosta of FC Cincinnati, who won the MLS MVP award last year. The fifth position is held by Juan Camilo “Cucho” Hernández of Columbus Crew, notable for his contributions to the team's successes in the 2023 MLS Cup and the 2024 Leagues Cup.
Inter Miami is prominently represented in the sales rankings. Besides Messi and Suárez, Spanish stars Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba also feature on the list, holding the 11th and 15th spots, respectively. This highlights the significant interest in Inter Miami and its high-profile players.
