Apple appears to be shaking up its smartphone strategy in a big way.

According to fresh leaks, all models in the iPhone 17 lineup—not just the premium Pro versions—will be equipped with Samsung’s top-tier M14 OLED displays, offering brighter, smoother, and more immersive visuals than ever before.

The M14 OLED panel was developed by Samsung. It is capable of reaching a dazzling 3,000 nits of peak brightness, making outdoor visibility and HDR content much better.

But don’t expect Apple to give everything away to its standard models.

Mobilsiden reports that the base iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Plus may see this brightness slightly limited to keep some of the wow factor exclusive to the Pro models.

ProMotion for Everyone

Here’s the real surprise: for the first time, Apple is reportedly bringing ProMotion to non-Pro iPhones.

That means adaptive refresh rates from 1Hz to 120Hz across the board, delivering silky-smooth scrolling, more efficient battery usage, and a premium feel that was previously locked behind a higher price tag.

It’s a long-requested upgrade from users—and if the leaks are accurate, Apple is finally listening.

The iPhone 17 series won’t just look better—it’s set to perform better too.

Rumors suggest a redesigned chassis, improved battery life, faster charging, and the debut of Apple’s own C1 modem, replacing Qualcomm’s long-standing chip partnership.

The C1 modem is expected to deliver better 5G performance and lower power consumption, possibly even paving the way for satellite connectivity enhancements down the line.
