Apple is preparing to launch iOS 18.4, expected to roll out in April 2025.
The update introduces several new features, including a smarter Siri, new emojis, and improved customization options for users in the EU.
One of the most significant updates in iOS 18.4 is the enhancement of Siri.
With the integration of Apple Intelligence, the assistant will provide more accurate responses and better analyze the context of user queries.
For example, users will be able to ask Siri when they last had a doctor's appointment or retrieve a specific address from a previous message—without manually searching through apps, according to Chip.
iOS 18.4 is also expected to introduce several new emojis.
According to the latest Unicode proposals, users can look forward to additions such as a face with dark circles under the eyes, a fingerprint emoji, and a bare tree, among others.
Additionally, Apple is making changes to comply with new EU regulations.
This could allow users to select alternative default apps for navigation and translation — a long-requested feature.
Apple is expected to release iOS 18.4 in April 2025. The update will be available for all compatible iPhones via Software Update in Settings.
However, the new AI-powered Siri features will be exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 series, while older models will still receive other improvements included in iOS 18.4.
