Samsung has made a surprising announcement that has left many of its loyal users scratching their heads.

A longtime favorite service, exclusive to Galaxy devices, is being shut down at the end of the year, with little explanation provided.

The service in question is Samsung’s dedicated podcast platform.

According to a report by the German tech magazine Chip, after December 31, 2024, the service will no longer be accessible.

For years, the podcast platform has allowed Galaxy users to easily listen to their favorite shows directly from their devices. This niche offering carved out a space for itself in Samsung’s ecosystem, serving a loyal but relatively small audience.

Samsung has yet to provide a detailed explanation for the shutdown.

However, experts believe that competition from giants like Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Google Podcasts may have played a role.

These platforms dominate the market with extensive catalogs, sophisticated features, and broader cross-platform compatibility, making it harder for smaller, specialized services to thrive.

For Galaxy users, the closure means they’ll need to migrate to other platforms to continue accessing their favorite podcasts.
