Samsung's latest update leaves the Galaxy S21 out of new AI features.

Trending Now

Samsung has announced that the latest One UI 6.1.1 update will introduce new AI features to several older Galaxy models.

However, the Galaxy S21 will not be among them.

This means that if you own a Galaxy S21, it might be time to consider upgrading to a newer model.

According to Samsung, the new AI features that are exclusive to the Galaxy Fold 6 and Flip 6 will also be available for the Galaxy S22, S23 (including FE), Flip 4, Fold 4, Fold 5, Flip 5, Galaxy Tab S8, and Tab S9, as reported by Forbes.

These updates will enhance the user experience with advanced AI tools.

Galaxy S21 Left Out Again

The Samsung Galaxy S21 launched in 2021. Despite still being relatively new, the model is notably absent from the list of phones receiving the new AI features.

This isn't the first time the S21 has been partially excluded from updates.

As recently as May 2024, the S21 received only a simple Circle To Search feature, while other models were upgraded with a full suite of Galaxy AI tools.

High Trade-In Prices

Samsung is encouraging Galaxy S21 owners to upgrade by offering attractive trade-in prices.

When purchasing the new Galaxy Z Fold 6, the S21 Ultra can be traded in for about $500 (approximately €450), even though it sells for less than $200 (around €185) on eBay.

The S21 Plus, S21 FE, and the base model S21 also receive generous trade-in prices of around $400 (approximately €365).

For those planning an outright upgrade, Samsung offers even more for your Galaxy S21 with the purchase of the Galaxy S24.

The S21 Ultra is valued at about $560 (approximately €510), while the base model and S21 FE are valued at around $210 (approximately €190), and the S21 Plus at about $310 (approximately €280).

Although the Galaxy S21 still has at least a year of software support left, Samsung's high trade-in prices send a clear message to its customers: it’s time to upgrade.
