WhatsApp is set to enhance user security with the upcoming launch of its new feature, Passkey.
This security measure is designed to allow logins without the need for a password or two-step verification, providing a higher level of security compared to traditional methods.
According to Finnish media outlet Iltalehti.fi, Passkey utilizes biometric authentication methods such as fingerprint scans, facial recognition, or a phone-specific code, effectively turning the user's phone into a secure key.
The feature, already available to Android users, is currently being rolled out to iPhone devices. This update will be implemented gradually and is expected to reach all users within the next one to two weeks.
Accessing the New Feature
Once the update is available, you can activate Passkey by navigating to Settings > Account > Passkey in your WhatsApp application.
This update aims to streamline the login process while significantly enhancing security, ensuring a more secure user experience.
