A week after the death of his wife, American man John Polo decided to go through the photos on her phone. As he was scrolling through the images, he was suddenly deeply moved by a picture of his late wife Michelle in a wedding dress, which he had never seen her wear.
"I felt proud. It was a mix of devastation and pride," John Polo explained his reaction when he discovered the photo, according to the Telegraph.
Michelle had died of a rare form of cancer shortly before their planned wedding. John Polo has since created a Facebook group where he pays tribute to his late wife. In a heartbreaking post, he describes the events leading up to his wife's death.
"We got married at the courthouse a few days before her first surgery was scheduled. We rushed there to get married because we didn't know if she would survive the next operation," John explained in the post.

Unfortunately, Michelle lost her battle with cancer before the actual wedding could take place.
John and Michelle had met back in high school, where they became sweethearts. They later went their separate ways, only to cross paths again eight years later and rekindle their relationship before Michelle fell ill.
