Damian Aspinall runs the Aspinall Foundation, which aims to raise gorillas in captivity and then release them into the Gabon forest in West Africa.
He and his daughter Tansy went to the forest to search for Djalta and Bimms, two female gorillas who left them in 2003.
It had been 12 years since the gorillas last saw Tansy, who has grown considerably since then.
As they sailed down the river, Damian called out to the two large animals, who appeared after hours of searching. They quickly recognized Damian, whom they hadn't seen in four years. It was a joyful reunion. Damian, of course, knew how to behave around them, and they embraced each other.
However, they stared at Tansy, the girl they hadn't seen in so many years. Damian was a bit apprehensive about letting her get close to the gorillas, but he assessed that it was safe.
