People often cherish the time they spend with their loved ones, especially when family members serve in the military.
Heather Almond, an American mother, is no exception. She makes the most of her time with her son Gavin, who is undergoing basic training in the army.
During a family weekend, Heather and Gavin decided to dine out at a Japanese restaurant.
They ordered food worth around $100. However, when they went to pay the bill, the waitress informed them that another table had already covered their expenses.
The waitress mentioned that the generous patrons wanted to thank Gavin for his service.
Heather later shared a post on Facebook detailing the entire experience.
She wrote,
"This weekend, I visited my son in Fort Benning with my daughter and mother. It was a family weekend, and he loves sushi, so we found a Japanese restaurant. When we went to pay, the waitress told us that the people at the other table had paid for us. They were gone before I could find out who they were, but I happened to take a picture of my son with one of the generous people in the background. I don't know who she is, but it meant the world to us. We will find a way to pay it forward."
Attached to the Facebook post was a photo of Gavin, with one of the generous patrons visible in the background.
