Unexpected health issues is always something you sincerely do not hope for when you have an event planned for the night.
During a concert at the Semperoper in Dresden, Germany, several people began to feel unwell.
The incident occurred on Tuesday during a performance by the Staatskapelle Dresden, conducted by Philippe Herreweghe, reports Digi24.
As the concert went on, some spectators reported feeling dizzy and having trouble breathing. Two people were taken to the hospital for treatment.
Paramedics quickly arrived at the scene to assist those affected. However, things took an unusual turn.
Several of the paramedics who were helping also started to feel unwell. They experienced similar symptoms to the concertgoers, including circulatory and respiratory problems.
Because of this, the fire brigade called for specialized units with breathing assistance devices. Four paramedics were examined by a doctor on site.
At one point, a bystander lost consciousness, adding to the alarm.
Despite the growing concern, the fire brigade later confirmed that no hazardous substances were detected in the building.
This ruled out the possibility of a chemical leak or other dangerous material causing the issues.
Although the cause of the incident is still unclear, police have launched an investigation.
They are trying to figure out what led to these health problems. Fortunately, since the incident occurred toward the end of the concert, the opera house did not need to be evacuated.
The concert featured works by famous composers Joseph Haydn and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Despite the unsettling situation, the performance continued until its scheduled end.
The strange occurrence has left many questions unanswered. While it’s clear that something caused these health issues, investigators are still working to find out what happened.
