Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated on September 4th that recent changes in Ukraine’s government will not impact the prospects for any potential negotiations with Russia.

Nothing to do with Negotiations

Speaking to Russian state media, Peskov emphasized that the government reshuffle in Kyiv has no bearing on the negotiation process.

"No, this will not influence it in any way and has nothing to do with the prospects of a negotiation process," Peskov was quoted as saying by TASS, Russia’s official news agency.

Peskov’s comments came as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced a series of government changes, including the resignation of Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.

Kuleba, who has served as Ukraine's foreign minister since 2020, submitted his resignation alongside several other top officials, including the ministers of justice, strategic industries, and environment, as well as the head of Ukraine's State Property Fund.

These resignations are expected to be addressed in upcoming sessions of Ukraine’s parliament, the Verkhovna Rada.

President Zelensky had previously indicated plans for a government shakeup aimed at strengthening Ukraine’s leadership as the country continues to navigate the ongoing conflict with Russia.

Despite the political shifts in Kyiv, Moscow maintains that these changes do not alter the broader context of the ongoing war or the potential for future talks.
