Ukrainian troops have repelled a fresh Russian assault near Torske village in the Donetsk region, the 60th Mechanized Brigade reported.
According to the brigade report, they managed to halt the Russian invaders and inflicted major losses on the Russian side in the process.
The Russian forces, deploying several armored vehicles covered with protective sheets against FPV drone attacks, were met with fierce resistance. However, the protection failed, and Ukrainian forces used an FPV drone to destroy a Russian tank.
“Another enemy assault, another victory for the 60th Brigade! The FPV drone from Vidar Company hit the Russian tank with precision, causing a massive explosion,” the Ukrainian military announced.
The strike led to the tank's ammunition detonating, producing a powerful blast.
"The explosion was so strong, it was likely visible from space! Another Russian 'iron monster' is gone, thanks to our skilled drone operators and the bravery of our defenders," the military added.
The Ukrainian General Staff confirmed that Russian forces attempted to advance fourteen times in the Lyman sector near several villages, including Torske, Hryhorivka, and Dibrova.
Eleven of these battles have been won, with three still ongoing.
In September, analysts from DeepState reported that Ukrainian forces regained positions near Torske. The 60th Brigade, previously operating in the Kupiansk sector, continues to hold the line in Lyman.
The 79th Separate Tavrian Air Assault Brigade also recently repelled a large-scale Russian attack in the Donetsk region.
