The Russian Pacific Fleet and the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) of China have concluded joint naval exercises named "Ocean-2024" in the Sea of Japan.
15 Ships and 10 Aircraft
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense and URA, these extensive drills began on September 11 and are set to run until today, September 16, involving over 90,000 personnel, more than 400 combat ships and submarines, and over 120 aircraft and helicopters.
The exercises, conducted under the strategic command of Admiral Alexander Moiseev, featured a wide range of activities.
Over 15 Russian ships, supported by more than 10 aircraft and helicopters, participated alongside their Chinese counterparts in a series of complex maneuvers. The drills included live-fire exercises with missiles and artillery, aimed at enhancing the readiness of both fleets.
Anit-Submarine Operations
One of the key components of "Ocean-2024" was the practice of countering threats from unmanned boats and FPV (First Person View) drones, simulating potential adversary attacks.
The exercises also focused on anti-air and anti-submarine operations, reflecting the growing emphasis on multi-dimensional naval warfare.
Additionally, during the exercises, two Russian MiG-31BM fighters intercepted a simulated adversary, an Il-38 maritime patrol aircraft, over neutral waters in the Sea of Japan.
This intercept was part of the broader training objectives designed to test and improve the tactical coordination between the two naval forces.
