Polish General Rajmund Andrzejczak stated at the Baltic Defense Conference that Russia must understand that an attack on Poland or the Baltic countries will also mean its end.

Immediate Response

The Chief of Defense Staff from Romania emphasized that Romania must also prepare in case the conflict escalates.

The Polish general pointed out that “if Russia attacks even a centimeter of Lithuanian territory, the response will come immediately,” according to Mediafax.

“Not on the first day, but in the first minute. We will strike all strategic targets within a radius of 300 kilometers (186 miles). We will attack St. Petersburg directly,” emphasized the former chief of the Polish Army, Rajmund Andrzejczak.

Strongest Ground Force

According to the cited source, in the context of a realistic yet worrying assessment of what Europe might face in the future, the Polish government, among all NATO members, is undertaking the most aggressive effort to prepare for such eventualities.

By 2030, Poland aims to have the strongest Ground Force on the continent, with over 300,000 soldiers equipped with 1,500 modern tanks, 800 mobile rocket launchers, drones, etc. Additionally, Poland will begin fortifying its border with Belarus and Kaliningrad this year, according to Ziare.

The Chief of Defense Staff from Romania, General Gheorghiţă Vlad, also conveyed at this year’s BSDA conference that, according to the estimates from the Ministry of National Defense, the war in Ukraine could escalate into a larger conflict, and Romania must prepare for any eventuality.
