Denounces Attacks

In a statement released by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), North Korea declared its unwavering support for Russia in its efforts to protect its sovereignty, accoridng to DIGI24.

The KCNA report accused the U.S. of supplying Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky with "astronomical" amounts of lethal aid, framing the Ukrainian actions as part of a broader U.S. policy of anti-Russian confrontation that is pushing global tensions towards the brink of World War III.

North Korea's Foreign Ministry denounced the attacks, calling them an act of aggression supported by the West.

Russian Allies

Over the past year, North Korea has strengthened its ties with Russia, holding two summits between leader Kim Jong Un and President Vladimir Putin. These meetings culminated in a "comprehensive strategic partnership" agreement in June, which includes a mutual defense pact.

Accusations have arisen from South Korea, Ukraine, and the United States alleging that North Korea has supplied Russia with artillery and missiles for use in its conflict with Ukraine. Both North Korea and Russia have denied these allegations.

North Korea's strong condemnation underscores its deepening alignment with Russia amidst the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
