Ukraine’s President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, has stated that despite suffering losses, North Korean soldiers continue to fight in the Kursk region and may soon receive reinforcements.

At the same time, he warned his allies that Russia is deepening its military ties with North Korea, which could have consequences beyond just Ukraine.

This comes out after news about North Korean troops withdrawing from the frontline.

North Korean reinforcements might be on the way

"They maintain contacts with North Korea regarding military supplies, weapons, and missiles. We see this in artillery and missile attacks. This is direct involvement—a clear case of another country being drawn into the war. It is not a theory but a fact", said Volodymyr Zelenskyy during one of his speeches at the Munich Security Conference.

The Ukrainian president confirmed earlier reports stating that around 12,000 North Korean soldiers have been stationed in the Kursk region.

Approximately 4,000 of them have reportedly been eliminated from the battlefield, but soon, reinforcements of around 2,000–3,000 additional North Korean troops are expected to arrive in the area.

Stanislav Krasnow, commander of a platoon in the 95th Independent Air Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, explained in an interview with the Unian news agency that the North Koreans have changed their tactics and are clearly adapting to modern warfare.

The modern approach to warfare, in this case, is one where drones play a crucial role.

Moreover, they have repeatedly surprised with equipment superior to that available to Russian soldiers.

Among some of the captured North Koreans, AK-12 assault rifles and Vepr-12 semi-automatic shotguns were found, along with large quantities of grenades, Chinese radios, and maps.

The North Koreans seem to be perfectly able to keep the war going.
