The Ukrainian military launched a significant drone offensive against Russia over the weekend.

Confirmed Destruction

They have deployed more than 125 drones, targeting multiple locations across Russia. Reports indicate that the majority of these drones were aimed at the Volgograd region, with explosions noted in cities such as Eisk and Krasnodar Krai, as well as Rostov, Voronezh, and Volgograd.

Russian media confirmed the destruction of a major munitions depot in Kotluban, located in Volgograd. Users on Telegram reported hearing explosions near a Russian Navy airfield in Eisk and Krasnodar Krai, according to Digi24.

Ukrainian forces specifically targeted energy and military installations deemed strategically significant in several regions, including Volgograd, Tambov, Oryol, Lipetsk, Tula, Saratov, Kuban, and Stavropol.

Downed Drones Caused Fires

Further explosions were reported in Tsimlyansk, part of Rostov region, where the regional governor stated that air defense forces managed to intercept and destroy four drones over the Azov region.

In Voronezh, downed drones reportedly caused fires, and local residents reported hearing at least ten explosions.

The governor of Rostov announced that a total of 18 drones had been shot down within the region, indicating the intensity of the assault.

This offensive comes as Ukraine continues to defend itself against a large-scale Russian invasion that has persisted for over two and a half years. Ukraine has increasingly targeted Russian supply lines in its ongoing military campaign.
