A Russian missile strike hit a hotel in Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, on March 5, killing four people and injuring at least 30 others, including a child, according to Governor Serhii Lysak on Telegram.

The missile struck the five-story hotel around 10 p.m. local time, initially killing a 53-year-old man. Lysak later confirmed that two more men and a woman also lost their lives in the attack, while a 43-year-old man succumbed to his injuries in the hospital the next morning.

At least 30 others sustained injuries, with 14 in serious condition. Most of the wounded have been hospitalized, the governor said.

The strike caused extensive damage, affecting 14 apartment buildings, a post office, nearly two dozen cars, a cultural center, and 12 shops.

Emergency crews are actively working at the site to clear debris, with officials warning that more victims may still be trapped under the rubble. Ukraine’s State Emergency Service is continuing search and rescue operations.

Kryvyi Rih, the hometown of President Volodymyr Zelensky, remains a frequent target of Russian missile strikes. Home to approximately 660,000 residents, it is the second-largest city in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, located about 70 kilometers (40 miles) from the nearest front line.
