Polish volunteers fighting with the International Legion have recently highlighted their advanced anti-tank weaponry, showcasing their equipment to the public.

A Modernized Version

Among the tools displayed are the RPG-75M and the Pansarskott m/86 (AT4), reflecting the diverse range of military support being provided by foreign fighters.

The RPG-75M is a modernized version of the RPG-75, originally developed in Czechoslovakia. This lightweight, single-use anti-tank grenade launcher is designed to target armored vehicles at distances of up to 300 meters, according to Tech.

Despite its compact size and weight of just 3.2 kg, the RPG-75M can penetrate around 300 mm of steel armor. It is notable for its lack of a rocket propulsion system, relying instead on a recoilless gun's propellant charge.

The RPG-75M also comes in thermobaric versions, effective for breaching fortifications and buildings, or combining thermobaric effects with anti-armor capabilities.

Crucial for Soldiers Facing Enemy Forces

On the other hand, the Swedish-made Pansarskott m/86, or AT4, is a lightweight anti-tank weapon weighing under 8 kg, designed to destroy targets up to 300 meters away under optimal conditions.

While its 84 mm caliber warhead can penetrate between 350 mm to 460 mm of armor, the latest model, AT4CS ER, claims to defeat up to 600 mm of steel.

Although it may struggle against the most recent Russian tanks like the T-90M, it remains effective against older armored vehicles and infantry fighting vehicles. Notably, the AT4CS variant allows for safe firing from confined spaces, reducing the risk to the operator.

These weapons play a crucial role for soldiers when facing overwhelming enemy forces, especially when dedicated anti-tank teams are unavailable. The ability of these portable anti-tank systems to deliver effective firepower enhances the combat effectiveness of individual soldiers in challenging situations.
