Ukrainian forces are focusing on utilizing homemade FPV (First Person View) drones to disrupt Russian surveillance operations.
According to analyst Zakhar Andreev, the new technology incorporates data from radar systems and other sensors, enabling pilots to track and intercept targets without needing to visually observe them. This advancement marks a significant evolution in drone warfare.
Russia Using Smaller Systems
Meanwhile, Russian engineers are addressing the drone threat with a comprehensive approach.
Military observer Alexei Vasiliev reported that the Russian military is employing small radar systems and observation posts to create an integrated command system for better drone interception. This strategy enhances their ability to utilize conventional FPV drones effectively.
Among the Russian military's arsenal is the "Tarantula," a quadcopter equipped with a special net designed to capture enemy drones.
These drones are also fitted with radar technology for effective target detection. Additionally, the Russian army uses the "Osoed," a dedicated interceptor drone that can chase down attacking UAVs.
