Russian forces are ramping up security measures around strategicly important Crimean Bridge.

Destruction would Disrupt Logistics

The bridge, which spans over 18 kilometers, connects the Russian-occupied Crimean Peninsula to the Taman Peninsula in Russia. Its destruction would severely impact Russian military logistics in the region, prompting heightened security efforts, according to WP.

Dmytro Pletenchuk, spokesperson for the Ukrainian Navy, reported that Russia is utilizing all available air defense systems to protect the bridge.

"They are employing the S-500, S-400, S-300, and Pantsir-S1 systems," Pletenchuk stated.

While he expressed uncertainty regarding the use of Tor systems, he emphasized the presence of long-range and short-range defenses aimed at safeguarding this critical asset.

Strong Protection Deployed

The S-500 Prometheus system, known for its capability to intercept targets up to 600 kilometers away and at altitudes of 200 kilometers, is designed to counter modern aerial threats, including ballistic and hypersonic missiles, aircraft, helicopters, and drones.

The S-400 can track up to 80 targets simultaneously and engage up to 160 missiles, effectively neutralizing threats within a 400-kilometer radius.

The S-300, despite being an older model, remains effective, capable of tracking 100 targets and destroying those up to 200 kilometers away.

Additionally, the Pantsir-S1 system combines artillery and missile capabilities, featuring 30 mm cannons that can target threats within 4 kilometers, along with a missile system that can engage targets up to 20 kilometers away.
