Kharkiv came under heavy drone fire on the night of April 3, as Russia launched another wave of aerial attacks against the northeastern Ukrainian city.
Fires broke out across the city, and a residential building was hit in the Novobavarsky district, leaving multiple people wounded — including a child.
“At the site of one of the enemy UAV strikes, a fire has broken out. The aerial assault on Kharkiv continues, please remain cautious!” said Mayor Ihor Terekhov in a statement during the attack.
Later, he confirmed that a multi-story residential building had been directly hit.
This was reported by United24 Media.
Oleh Synehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, reported that 11 people have been injured, including one child. Local emergency services were still working at the scene as of Thursday morning.
This is the second large-scale drone assault on Kharkiv in as many days.
On April 2, the city was hit several times by waves of Russian drones. Dnipro was also targeted in a separate but similar series of attacks.
City on Alert as Attacks Continue
Residents were urged to stay indoors and heed air raid warnings as officials warned the drone attacks could continue. Fires were reported at several impact sites, with emergency crews deployed to contain the damage and assist victims.
Mayor Terekhov described the situation as ongoing and dangerous, calling on citizens to remain cautious and alert as the city remains under threat.
This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
