Ukraine launched a large-scale drone attack on Russia early Wednesday, according to Russian officials.
Largest Attack to Date
According to L'Independent the assault involved numerous drones, with three reportedly shot down near Moscow and an additional 15 over the Bryansk region in western Russia.
The drones targeting Moscow were intercepted over the city of Podolsk, located just outside the capital.
Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin confirmed the incident on Telegram, stating:
"According to preliminary reports, no casualties or damage have been reported in the area where the drone debris fell."
Sobyanin described the attack as "one of the largest drone assault attempts on Moscow to date."
More Drone Attacks
Further south, Alexander Bogomaz, the governor of the Bryansk region, also reported a drone attack in his area, claiming no casualties or damage.
Russian state news agency RIA mentioned that two more drones were shot down over the Tula region, which lies near Moscow.
Additionally, in the Rostov region of southwestern Russia, local governor Vasily Golubev reported that air defense forces successfully intercepted a missile launched by Ukraine. The exact details of the missile strike and its intended target remain unclear.
These claims have not been independently verified by outside sources, and Ukraine has not yet commented on the incidents.
