Russia's defense industry has introduced a new multifunctional drone named Berdis, developed by Uralvagonzavod.

Support Airnone Assault Troops

According to Uralvagonzavod's General Director, Vladimir Tkaciuk, the Berdis drone is designed to support airborne assault troops with a range of capabilities, including acting as a grenade launcher, carrying cargo, conducting reconnaissance missions, and even functioning as a flamethrower.

One of the standout features of the Berdis is its ability to launch anti-tank and anti-personnel mines against enemy positions, according to Digi24.

It can carry loads weighing up to 44 pounds (20 kg) over distances of up to 15.5 miles (25 km), making it a valuable asset for supplying troops in hard-to-reach areas. The drone's modular design allows it to adapt to various combat roles, including the deployment of powerful anti-personnel mines.

No technical Details

Tkaciuk emphasized that the Berdis can directly participate in combat operations while also providing essential logistical support.

However, he did not disclose further technical details such as the drone's maximum speed, flight altitude, or autonomous operation time. Additionally, information regarding the accuracy of its control systems—crucial for precision strikes—has not been provided.

The development and production costs of the Berdis drone remain undisclosed. This raises questions about its affordability and potential impact on state defense budgets. High costs could limit the number of units procured or force military planners to consider more cost-effective alternatives.
