Bill Browder, a former American investor and now a human rights activist, has voiced a bold prediction about Russia’s military prospects.

Nuclear Rhetoric Largely Intimidation

In a recent interview, Browder argued that if Russia were to engage in a conventional war with NATO, it would lose within three days. Browder's comments come amidst continued nuclear threats from Russian President Vladimir Putin and his administration.

Browder, once the largest foreign investor in Russia before his exit in 2005, believes that Putin’s nuclear rhetoric is largely intended to intimidate, according to Ziare.

He asserts that launching a nuclear attack would not only lead to catastrophic losses on both sides but would also risk damaging Russia’s critical alliances with countries like China and India.

Stands Little Chance Against Nato

According to Browder, the military power imbalance between NATO and Russia is stark. NATO boasts a significantly larger force, with approximately 3.4 million soldiers compared to Russia's 1.5 million.

Additionally, Browder pointed out that Putin initially expected to conquer Ukraine in just three days, but the conflict has now dragged on for over two years. Given this, Browder suggests that Russia stands little chance in a conventional war against NATO.

However, Browder also acknowledges that any conflict would likely involve the military capacities of Russia’s allies, particularly members of the BRICS coalition like China. Despite this, Browder is convinced that NATO’s superiority would ultimately prevail.

Browder’s wealth is estimated to be around $100 million, and he remains an outspoken critic of the Russian government.
