In a shocking claim, Abdulkhakim Gadzhiev, a State Duma deputy from Dagestan, accused Ukrainian and NATO intelligence services of orchestrating a recent terrorist attack in Dagestan.

The attack, which targeted an Orthodox church and a synagogue in Makhachkala and Derbent, resulted in at least 10 deaths and 37 injuries. Gadzhiev made these statements during an interview with the Rossiya-1 television channel, as reported by Hotnews.

Retaliation for Russian Military Successes

Gadzhiev suggested that the attacks were a direct response to the Russian army's "successes" on the Ukrainian front.

He stated, "Ukrainian and NATO intelligence services could be behind this… because we are achieving successes in the Northern Military District on all fronts, which means the situation must be difficult within our country."

According to RBC, the attackers were all residents of Dagestan, with several being known to the Ministry of Internal Affairs for their connections to Wahhabi circles.

Planning and Perpetration of the Attacks

Sources from law enforcement agencies, as reported by RBC, indicated that the attackers' actions, shouts, and appearance suggested they were part of an Islamist terrorist organization.

Security officials believe the attacks were meticulously planned in advance. In connection with the attack, Magomed Omarov, the head of the Sergokalinsky district in Dagestan, was detained.

Preliminary reports suggest that his two sons, who were among the attackers, were killed by security forces during an anti-terror operation.
