13 Pieces of Enemy Equipment Destroyed

The Ukrainian 46th Air Assault Brigade has successfully repelled three separate Russian assaults in a single day, resulting in the destruction of 13 pieces of enemy equipment.

According to Tech this impressive achievement took place on August 21 in the vicinity of Kurakhove, a city in the Donetsk region.

The brigade, which shared its success via video clips on its official Telegram channel, primarily utilized artillery and anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs) to fend off the attacks.

The L119 artillery systems, capable of firing 105mm shells, played a critical role in the defense strategy, alongside drone support that was deployed after initial bombardments.

Not the Best Tank in the World

The losses suffered by Russian forces included a range of military hardware, showcasing both older Soviet-era systems and more modern equipment. Among the destroyed units were BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles, and among the damaged vehicles were MT-LB armored personnel carriers and the advanced T-90 tanks.

The T-90 is a family of main battle tanks first produced in 1992, representing a major upgrade from the T-72 series. These tanks are equipped with a 125mm smoothbore gun and various machine guns, and they can reach speeds of up to 65 km/h.

The latest model, the T-90M, has been touted by Russian President Vladimir Putin as "the best tank in the world." However, recent battlefield losses have cast doubt on such claims.

In recent months, military analysts have estimated that Russian forces have lost over 145 T-90 tanks since the onset of their full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
