Overnight, Russian forces attacked Odesa with missiles and drones, resulting in the death of a 62-year-old woman.
This was reported by the head of the Odesa Regional State Administration, Oleg Kiper, on Telegram.
The attack caused significant damage, though Ukrainian air defense successfully intercepted most of the incoming threats.
"At night, the enemy attacked Odesa with missiles and drones. The air defense forces worked extremely hard, and most of the enemy's targets were destroyed. Sadly, a 62-year-old woman died as a result of the missile attack," Kiper shared on Telegram.
The missile strikes damaged buildings and vehicles, and dry grass caught fire in the aftermath. Rescue teams quickly responded, extinguishing the flames.
Despite the destruction, the morning drone attack caused no casualties, and no significant damage to infrastructure was reported.
Law enforcement officers are now documenting the aftermath of the attack.
This incident follows a similar airstrike in Zaporizhzhia the same night, where the number of casualties has risen to eight.
