Authorities in Moscow have arrested two individuals suspected of attempting to launch a drone for the purpose of surveilling military targets.

Trying to Operate Drone

The arrests occurred late at night on August 24, near a military site in New Moscow, as reported by the Telegram channel Baza and Lenta.

The suspects, a man and a woman, were caught while trying to operate the drone.

The woman is said to have traveled from Crimea, while details about the man remain unclear. They have been handed over to operatives from the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia for further investigation.

Incriminating Messages on Phone

According to Baza, the suspects were detected during a patrol using thermal imaging technology just as they were about to launch the drone.

In addition to the drone, authorities found messages on their phones that indicated communication with individuals in Ukraine, raising concerns about their intentions and affiliations.

This incident aligns with recent directives from Russian President Vladimir Putin, who has instructed the FSB and the National Guard to take a closer look at the activities of suspected Ukrainian saboteurs within Russia.

The Kremlin has expressed increasing vigilance regarding potential threats, particularly from Ukrainian operatives amid ongoing tensions between the two countries.
