For nearly three years, Ukraine has relied heavily on foreign assistance to support its war effort and maintain essential services.

As the conflict with Russia continues, international aid has been critical in sustaining both military operations and humanitarian projects.

Now, a sudden freeze on U.S. assistance has disrupted multiple aid programs, affecting veterans, local media, and healthcare services.

Seeking Support From Ukrainian Companies

A directive from President Donald Trump has temporarily suspended U.S. foreign aid for 90 days, with exceptions for Egypt and Israel.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio issued the order last week, stating that all aid programs would be reviewed during this period, according to Digi24.

The decision has left numerous organizations uncertain about their future funding and operations.

USAID, the U.S. Agency for International Development, has been a key provider of assistance to Ukraine.

Since the Russian invasion began, the agency has allocated billions of dollars in humanitarian and developmental aid. Now, officials from its Ukraine office confirm that most projects have received shutdown orders.

One of the affected organizations is Veteran Hub, which provides legal and psychological support for Ukrainian soldiers and their families.

This week, the group had to close its branch in Vinnytsia, leaving many without essential services.

A representative from the organization stated that they are seeking support from Ukrainian companies to continue their work.

Local Ukrainian media outlets have also reported funding cuts, as many rely on international assistance to operate in wartime conditions.

Additionally, an American NGO working in Ukraine revealed that a new aid project expected to launch soon has been put on hold. It remains unclear whether it will be fully canceled or simply delayed.

Despite the freeze on humanitarian and development aid, military assistance to Ukraine remains intact.

President Volodymyr Zelensky reassured the public that defense support from the U.S. has not been interrupted
