Ukraine’s Defense Ministry announced the approval of the Shchedryk drone for military use on Dec. 25. This domestically-produced UAV is designed to meet the demands of modern warfare.

It combines silent electric motors with advanced resistance to electronic warfare, ensuring operational reliability even in heavily contested zones.

The Shchedryk stands out for its adaptability. It can operate in extreme weather conditions, including strong winds, severe frost, or scorching heat. Its day-and-night capabilities make it a versatile tool for monitoring enemy activity around the clock.

The drone’s optical equipment allows it to fly at altitudes beyond the reach of most air defense systems, providing critical intelligence without exposing itself to unnecessary risk.

Deputy Defense Minister Dmytro Klimenkov praised the drone’s design, emphasizing its resilience and strategic advantage.

He noted that its ability to avoid detection and withstand electronic interference gives Ukraine an edge on the battlefield.

Drones have been a cornerstone of Ukraine’s strategy throughout the war. They are used not only for reconnaissance but also for delivering strikes and supporting ground operations.

In December alone, over 200,000 drones were delivered to front-line units. This achievement reflects the country’s determination to maintain a robust supply of domestically-produced technology.
