According to Lenta the attack, which led to a fire, was confirmed by Krasnodar Governor Veniamin Kondratiev via his Telegram channel.

Emergency services are currently on the scene, and according to Governor Kondratiev, the fire has been localized with no risk of further spread. The governor reported that the attack resulted in the death of one individual and injuries to several others.

However, the exact number of injured individuals was not disclosed. Governor Kondratiev extended his condolences to the families and friends of the deceased.

Strategic Move

The port of Kavkaz, Russia's fifth-largest by cargo turnover, is strategically located in the Temryuk district of Krasnodar, near the Kerch Strait Bridge connecting the Russian mainland to Crimea. This attack comes amid heightened tensions and increased military activities in the region.

The incident led to the temporary closure of the Kerch Strait Bridge on the morning of July 23, causing significant disruptions. The closure was announced at 7:29 AM Moscow time, although further details about the restrictions were not provided by the authorities.
