Ukrainian soldiers from the 79th Air Assault Brigade successfully repelled a significant Russian attack in the Kurakhove sector of Donetsk region.

The Brigade's press service released footage showing the destruction of Russian military equipment and personnel during the intense battle near the village of Kostyantynivka.

In a coordinated offensive, Russian forces deployed 19 pieces of military hardware, including 11 armored combat vehicles and eight tanks, in an attempt to break through Ukrainian defensive lines.

However, Ukrainian paratroopers detected the Russian column and launched a swift counterattack using artillery, strike drones, and drones equipped with drop munitions.

Thanks to the Ukrainian forces' swift response, four Russian tanks and two armored vehicles were destroyed.

The paratroopers reported that 23 Russian soldiers were killed and an equal number wounded in the assault. The remaining Russian vehicles were forced to retreat under heavy fire.

Continued Defense in the Kurakhove Sector

The Kurakhove sector has seen relentless assaults from Russian forces, who have been using armored vehicles and large numbers of infantry to push against Ukrainian positions. Despite the intensity of these attacks, Ukrainian defenders, including the 79th Air Assault Brigade, have continued to hold their ground, inflicting significant losses on the enemy.

Earlier reports from Militarnyi detailed another massive Russian assault on the Brigade’s positions, during which 44 units of Russian military equipment were engaged.

In that battle, Ukrainian aerial reconnaissance detected the approaching enemy forces, allowing Ukrainian artillery to deliver accurate and devastating strikes.

Ukrainian forces remain resilient in the face of repeated Russian attempts to advance in the region, consistently destroying enemy equipment and personnel in their defense efforts.
