Ukraine’s Armed Forces have launched a significant strike against a large ammunition depot in Russia’s Bryansk region, located near the Ukrainian border.

Evidence of Secondary Detonations

The attack targeted the 1060th Logistics Center, previously known as Arsenal 120 under Russia’s Ministry of Defense, causing substantial damage.

Ukrainian military officials reported at least eight explosions at the site, and analysis of released footage showed fires and evidence of secondary detonations throughout the facility.

The strike on Bryansk is part of an intensified Ukrainian effort to disrupt Russian supply lines and reduce Russia’s access to critical military resources, according to Hotnews.

This action marks a continuation of Ukraine’s strategic use of precision strikes and drone warfare to weaken Russian forces. Over the past months, Ukraine has increasingly relied on drones, long-range missiles, and other high-impact technologies to target key military and logistical sites within Russian territory.

The Bryansk attack underscores how Ukraine is leveraging these tools to extend the conflict’s impact beyond Ukraine’s borders.

Disrupt Russian Logistics

On the same day, Ukraine launched the largest drone strike to date on Moscow, deploying at least 34 drones to the Russian capital.

This assault forced flight diversions at three major Moscow airports and resulted in injuries to at least one person. Russia’s Defense Ministry reported that its air defenses destroyed 36 additional drones over western Russia, with 17 of them intercepted above Bryansk.

These drone strikes are believed to be conducted using domestically developed drones by Ukraine, designed for extended range and capable of penetrating Russian air defenses.

Drone warfare has become central to Ukraine’s strategy, partly due to the logistical challenges in acquiring and deploying traditional military aircraft. Drones, often smaller and less detectable than manned aircraft, allow Ukraine to hit high-value targets deep within Russian territory.

This escalation in drone strikes is seen as an attempt by Ukraine to disrupt Russian logistics and strain Russia’s air defense capabilities.

In Bryansk and nearby Russian regions, officials reported fires in multiple buildings following the drone strikes. Bryansk Governor Aleksander Bogomaz confirmed that emergency response teams were on-site, though he did not disclose further details on the extent of the damage.

Russian defense officials acknowledge the growing challenge these aerial threats pose as Ukrainian forces expand the reach of their drone operations.
