Ukrainian military intelligence has announced the successful execution of a maritime drone strike against a Russian naval vessel near the occupied Crimean coast.

Damaged a total of four vesssels

Ukrainian special forces from the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) destroyed a Russian "Tunets" fast attack boat using a MAGURA V5 maritime drone.

According to L'independent this operation, conducted in the Black Sea, was confirmed by the GUR via a Facebook post, which was also reported by the Ukrainian media outlet Hromadske.

In addition to destroying the "Tunets" boat, Ukraine's special forces from Group 13 also damaged three other Russian vessels. The exact types of these boats are still being identified, according to the GUR.

A Frequent Target

This isn't the first time Ukrainian forces have targeted "Tunets" boats. In May, Ukrainian forces destroyed two and damaged two other vessels of the same type in the Crimean region.

The "Tunets" boats, utilized by Russian forces for patrol and logistical missions, have become a frequent target in the ongoing conflict.

The GUR highlighted that the MAGURA V5 drone, also known as the Maritime Autonomous Guard Unmanned Robotic Apparatus V-5, is recognized by international experts as one of the most effective strike platforms in the Russia-Ukraine war.

So far, Ukrainian maritime drones have successfully hit 18 Russian ships, with nine being completely destroyed.
