Renowned Ukrainian writer Serhiy Zhadan has stepped up to support the country's military by purchasing 20 electronic warfare (EW) systems for the 13th Khartiia Brigade of the National Guard.

The writer announced the initiative on the social platform X.

"I spent UAH 1,200,000—my own and your money—on 20 EW systems for the brigade. We are now raising funds for the next batch. These systems save soldiers' lives and are absolutely essential," Zhadan shared.

While the specific details of the electronic warfare systems were not disclosed, images suggest that each module is equipped with multiple antennas, indicating that the systems can jam or intercept multiple frequency bands.

Khartiia Brigade's Recent Successes

On September 5, 2024, the brigade carried out successful assault operations, resulting in enemy losses.

The brigade killed 34 and wounded 23 enemy combatants, cleared seven infantry positions and an anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) firing position, and destroyed a howitzer.

"Success in battle depends on luck and preparation. We cannot control luck, but we can control the training and cohesion of our fighters, the ability to make decisions under pressure, and the response to changing battlefield conditions," Colonel Ihor Obolensky, commander of the brigade, told Militarnyi.

Previosuly, on August 3, 2024, Khartiia soldiers used a drone to assist a wounded Russian soldier in surrendering.

After spotting the abandoned serviceman with a drone, the soldiers dropped water and instructions on how to surrender safely, directing him to Ukrainian troops.
