Ukrainian soldiers from the 68th Independent Tank Brigade have successfully captured a T-90M Proryv tank, valued at approximately $1.5 million.

A Very Difficult Operation

According to Ukrainian news agency Unian, the tank was found in pristine condition, still smelling of fresh paint, indicating it had recently rolled off the production line before being deployed to the front, according to WP.

The T-90M is one of the most advanced tanks in the Russian military arsenal, boasting superior offensive and defensive capabilities. As a result, it has become one of the most coveted prizes for Ukrainian forces.

The capture took place during intense fighting in the Donetsk region, where soldiers had to execute a "very difficult operation" to secure the vehicle. Russian forces had left the tank exposed in an open area, making it dangerous for the Ukrainians to approach.

None Were Injured

Military reports indicate that during the operation, Ukrainian troops came under fire, but fortunately, none were injured, allowing them to continue their offensive efforts. Remarkably, the T-90M was found to be almost entirely unused, with no shots fired and only 500 kilometers on the odometer.

The T-90M Proryv represents a pinnacle of Russian military technology, equipped with a 125 mm 2A46M-5 cannon and an advanced Kalina fire control system.

It also features machine guns of 7.62 mm and 12.7 mm to enhance its offensive capabilities. Protected by Relikt reactive armor, the tank is designed to shield its crew from drone attacks and guided missile strikes. With a maximum speed of 65-70 km/h, the T-90M is capable of rapid movement on the battlefield.
