Moldova’s airspace was violated on Sunday by drones launched during Russia’s massive attack on Ukraine.

Video footage shared by a resident of Ruseni, a village in the Edineț district, captured the sound and sight of low-flying drones.

The Moldovan government has strongly condemned these incursions, which underline the growing risks to neighboring countries from Russia’s ongoing war, according to Hotnews.

The footage, first published by NordNews, was recorded early Sunday morning using a yard surveillance camera.

Moldovan Foreign Minister Mihai Popșoi shared the video on social media, highlighting the threat posed to citizens.

"Explosions near our border and low-altitude drones emphasize the dangers Moldova faces from Russia’s brutal war," he wrote.

Involved 200 Missiles

Russia’s attack on Ukraine overnight involved over 200 missiles and drones targeting critical energy infrastructure.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that approximately 120 missiles and 90 drones were launched, with Ukrainian air defenses destroying more than 140 aerial targets.

The assault caused power and water outages in multiple regions and resulted in casualties.

Moldovan authorities confirmed the breach of their airspace. Officials noted that two missiles passed over Ruseni at low altitude, likely to avoid radar detection.

Residents in Groznița, in the Briceni district, also reported seeing drones flying as low as 100 meters.

Moldovan officials stated that no objects had fallen on their territory but acknowledged the deliberate use of low-altitude flight paths by Russian drones and missiles.

Chisinau strongly condemned the violations. Deputy Radu Marian emphasized Moldova's monitoring of the situation, assuring citizens that the government remains vigilant.

Moldova, which borders Ukraine, has repeatedly expressed concerns about the spillover effects of the war. The government views these airspace violations as a threat to national sovereignty and security.
