During Russia’s coordinated air assault on Ukraine on November 17, Ukrainian Air Force F-16 fighter jets were sent to intercept incoming missiles.
Footage captured in western Ukraine and shared by eyewitnesses that same day shows the interception in action.
Ukrainian pilots successfully intercepted more than 10 Russian missiles during the attacks, including at least one high-speed pursuit involving an F-16 and a Russian cruise missile in Western Ukraine.
The attacks on November 17 combined missile and drone strikes, targeting critical infrastructure and civilian areas.
Denmark recently announced plans to send additional F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine, demonstrating continued support for the country’s defense efforts.
Meanwhile, Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans stated during a NATO Defense Ministers' meeting in Brussels that Ukraine could use F-16 jets provided by the Netherlands for operations within Russian airspace.
