Drones have become a key weapon in modern warfare.

Russia has relied heavily on them in Ukraine, using them for surveillance, missile targeting, and direct attacks.

Ukrainian forces have worked to counter these threats, relying on air defenses, electronic warfare, and trained soldiers who can engage drones when needed.

During a mission near Toretsk, a Ukrainian soldier from the Azov Brigade managed to take down a Russian attack drone using only two bullets.

Spotted Incoming Drone

The soldier, identified by the call sign "Fish," was carrying out a reconnaissance mission when he spotted the incoming drone.

A helmet-mounted camera recorded the entire moment as he quickly reacted.

The footage shows him taking cover behind the remains of a building while the sound of the drone’s engine grows louder.

He warns his team about the incoming threat before taking aim.

He fires twice, and a small explosion follows, confirming that the drone has been hit.

He then tells his comrades: “I destroyed it, do you hear?”

The Azov Brigade later shared the video online. According to the brigade, Russian forces have been using more drones in the Toretsk area.

These unmanned aircraft are becoming increasingly advanced, posing a growing challenge for Ukrainian troops.

The brigade stated that its fighters are staying alert at all times, watching both the ground and the skies to protect their positions.

Russia has deployed different types of drones in the war, including Iranian-made Shahed models that have been used in widespread attacks.

Ukraine has responded with various defense strategies, including anti-aircraft weapons, electronic jamming, and, in rare cases, skilled soldiers taking them down with rifles.
