Modern warfare is no longer confined to clear battle lines. In a war defined by shifting tactics and strategic surprises, Ukraine’s Special Forces have become a critical part of its military efforts.
This week, they launched a daring cross-border raid into Russia’s Kursk region, according to Digi24.
The raid was succesfull and ended with ukrainian soldiers capturing russian prisoners and leaving a significant mark on enemy positions.
The operation was carried out by Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces (SSO), who stormed Russian positions and captured 12 soldiers.
The Ukrainian military released a statement and footage on Telegram showing the captured men, who identified themselves as members of Russia’s 810th Marine Brigade.
This wasn’t the only action reported. In a separate mission, the SSO’s 6th Ranger Regiment engaged another Russian unit, eliminating 17 soldiers in a carefully coordinated strike.
Video evidence shared by Ukraine’s forces confirms the success of both missions.
The Kursk raid is part of a broader campaign by Ukraine to disrupt Russian operations.
Ukrainian officials reported that in November alone, over 1,000 Russian soldiers were killed or wounded during operations in the Kursk area.
Ukrainian marines from the 36th Separate Marine Brigade also destroyed several pieces of Russian military equipment during engagements on the front lines.
