In the war-torn region of Donetsk, Ukraine, a woman has lamented to Putin the loss of her loved ones in the conflict against Ukraine.
According to Ziare the occupying Russian forces are mobilizing all men in the occupied zone, exacerbating the turmoil. To add to her woes, local "authorities" have seized her property.
According to Ukrainian journalist and blogger Denis Kazansky, the woman's husband and son fought against Ukrainian armed forces as part of the occupying forces of the so-called "DPR" (self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic) and perished.
Thousands of cases
She penned a complaint to Putin alleging that the occupiers confiscated her apartment. Kazansky notes that this is not an isolated incident; thousands of such cases have been recorded, with the confiscations persisting.
What's intriguing is that even those who fought for the Russian invaders have had their homes taken. Kazansky summed it up succinctly:
"I hope they are at least happy now; this is the Russian world these people awaited."
This distressing narrative sheds light on the ongoing plight of civilians in conflict zones and the devastating repercussions of war.
