Dr. Shai Efrati, a physician and professor of medicine and neuroscience at Tel Aviv University, has spent the past two decades meticulously documenting his health through MRI brain scans and comprehensive assessments of his cognitive and physical performance.

These observations have led to one incredible assessment. That his current health indicators surpass his health at age 30.

Efrati, who also founded a hyperbaric oxygen therapy clinic in Florida, credits much of his vitality to this particular treatment.

This therapy, which involves breathing pure oxygen in a pressurized chamber, has been linked in several studies to the reversal of certain aging biomarkers, even though it has not been approved by U.S. medical authorities for anti-aging purposes.

However, beyond the benefits of the abovementioned, Efrati also emphasizes the importance of a purposeful lifestyle.

Now, what does he mean by that? Work. He is talking about work.

“The most important thing is to have a future,” he advises his patients.

“Of course, if you work in construction or do difficult physical work, it’s time to stop. But if not, then never retire. If you give up one type of work, find another. Try to have a purpose, to be needed for something.”

Illustrating his point, Efrati cited the example of a 90-year-old patient who remains active in real estate and is even considering ventures as ambitious as building on Mars.

According to the doctor, the patient’s determination and ongoing engagement make him a better candidate for longevity therapy than a 40-year-old who retires solely to relax.
