NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) has announced that asteroid 2024 EU4 will make a close approach to Earth on Saturday, March 23.
NASA details reveal the asteroid, making its inaugural approach to our planet, measures 128 meters in length.
It will pass by Earth at a distance of 7.2 million km, traveling at a velocity of 101,880 km/h.
NASA classifies an asteroid as a "potentially hazardous object" if it comes within 7.4 million km of Earth and exceeds 150 m in size. Asteroid 2024 EU4 does not meet these criteria simultaneously.
Additionally, NASA reported that another asteroid, named 2024 BD7, made a close approach to Earth on Tuesday, March 19.
